Library Services
Guidelines for User Conduct
- Users are required to either dress in a student uniform or dress appropriately. Shorts above the
knee, skirts above the knee, tank tops, vests, strapless dresses, sleeveless shirts and wide collar
shirts with deep cuts are not permitted. Cropped pants, capri pants and gaucho pants are allowed.
- Users must bring all their personal belongings, including bags, books, folders and other documents, out of the EDIC before the closing hour.
- Food and drinks are not permitted inside the EDIC. (Please otherwise place your food or drinks in
a basket provided near the front desk).
- Users who are not officially or currently affiliated with Chulalongkorn University are required to
completely record their information in the EDIC’s sign-in book.
- Users must keep their noises to a minimum.
- Use of electricity in the EDIC is reserved for computers and notebooks only.
Action may be taken against those not complying with the above guidelines.
- If the user violates any of the above guidelines or behaves inappropriately, the EDIC staff reserves
the right to discontinue the service. If the user is a Chulalongkorn University student, his/her non-compliance will be recorded, filed and submitted to the Student Affairs Unit.
- In the case where personal belongings are left unattended, the EDIC staff reserves the right to put
those belongings away immediately and will not be held responsible their loss or damage.
- In the case where users drink and eat in the EDIC, the staff reserves the right to discontinue the
service until food/drinks being consumed are removed from the EDIC.
Inappropriate Dress Code
Rules for borrowing-returning books: The details are as follows.
Providing book borrowing services for faculty members, students and
staff of Chulalongkorn University. They can be borrowed at the circulation counter by showing the student card to the staff. The outsiders who are members, alumni are not allowed to borrow books outside.
Students / faculty member / staff in the Faculty
- Bachelor's degree students 7 books / 7 days / can borrow 2 consecutive times
- Master's degree students 10 books / 14 days / can borrow 2 consecutive times
- Doctoral students 15 books / 14 days / can borrow 2 consecutive times
- faculty member 20 books / 30 days
- staff 15 books / 30 days
If there is a fine, pay the fine yourself at the circulation counter on business days by
- General books stamped with the date in blue ink 3 baht / book / day
- Reservation book stamped with the date in red ink 30 baht / book / day
Borrowing-returning and delivery of books between libraries in Chulalongkorn University.
This service delivers books to students and faculty who want to use the books of different faculties libraries. Members can contact to receive the book and return it to the faculty library. Interlibrary Loan Service
Inter-library loan service is a service for borrowing books, articles, theses and publications between libraries, higher education institutions, organizations and agencies both within and outside the country. Provide services for students and professors of the Faculty of Economics Chulalongkorn University.

Access to the service
Q: Can the outsiders use the service and borrow books?
A: The outsiders who are members, alumni can come to use the service at the EDIC by logging in to the service in the sign-in book and filling in all details but it is not allowed to borrow books outside.
Q: What kind of card is required to borrow a book?
A: Student ID card, staff ID card
Borrowing-Return-Renewal
Q: Until what time can I borrow books?
A: You can borrow books anytime the library is open.
Q: Can the journal be borrowed? and how many days can I borrow?
A: Journals are not allowed to be borrowed outside the library but can borrow photocopies by returning within the borrowing date, or if unable to return on that date, please notify at the circulation service counter.
